Island History Articles

In the mid nineties, I wrote a series of articles about the development of the Faith in the Caribbean for a project initiated by the Universal House of Justice called “Bahá’í Encyclopedia.” The articles were about the Leeward, Windward and Virgin Islands. The article about St Lucia was written by John Kolstoe and the French Islands by Daniel Cauilaud.

The project never was completed in its original scope with the articles not being used. I have received permission to use them for this web site.

“The following articles were written for possible inclusion in the Bahá’í Encyclopedia, an ongoing project of the  National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the United States,  currently being presented in an online format. These drafts have not been edited and will not appear in the Encyclopedia in their present  form. Hence they should not be considered representative of the project.”
