DOMINICA – Connie Didier-Astaphan

This video clip of Connie Didier-Astaphan taken from an interview by Linda Cicada and Oma Richmond in 1994-5 during their teaching/taping trip with the Paccassi’s, recording memories from the formation stage of the Baha’i Faith in our area.

Connie, while still young, had heard of the Baha’i Faith from her Mother, Mona George-Dill.
As got older, she began to investigate for herself by reading her first Baha’i book “Thief in the Night” After this reading she accepted the truth of the Faith and made her own Baha’i declaration at age 15.

She continued to be an active Baha’i serving the Faith through teaching about it on Dominica as well traveling to other islands as a Baha’i representative. In 1978 she had the first Baha’i Wedding on Dominica, marrying Albert Astaphan. In 1983 she and her Mother were elected to the first National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Dominica.

In this clip she speaks of hearing of the Faith and what it means in her life.
